Richard Charles Evans

Richard Charles “Rick” Evans, 68, of Andover, died October 28, 2026, in Wichita.

He was born June 15, 1958, in Camden, New Jersey, to Charles and Norma Evans. He lived his early years in Texas and Oklahoma before his family settled in Derby. He graduated from Derby High School with top honors, especially in physics and chemistry.

He attended Wichita Area Technical College, where he studied electronics, and worked for Beech Aircraft and later IFR. He was known for fixing cars, electronics and computers and encouraged his nephews to learn car and computer repair. He enjoyed bicycling, his BMW motorcycle and rock music, and his favorite band was Kansas.

He and his wife, Catherine L. Evans, of Andover, were married 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Evans and Norma (Jenks) Evans.

Survivors include his wife, Catherine; his sisters, Terry (Evans) McDowell and Valerie (Evans) Worley; nephews Joe Worley and Casey Worley; a great-niece, Rosie Worley; and a great-nephew, Otto Worley.
