Gene White, Butler County Rescue Squad founder and former Andover municipal judge, dies
Doyle Eugene "Gene" White Jr., one of the founders of the Butler County Rescue Squad and a longtime judge of the Andover Municipal Court, has died, Butler County EMS & Rescue Squad announced.
White helped establish the Butler County Rescue Squad and dedicated many hours to building its emergency response work, the agency said. He was also a local attorney and served as a city judge, including a long tenure on the bench in Andover.
White was an advocate for the Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt and worked with its founders from the event’s early days in 1987, guiding hunters, opening fishing opportunities and helping launch its youth outdoor programs, according to the agency.
Butler County EMS & Rescue Squad extended condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
