Greta Shawn Taft, 64, of El Dorado, died October 27, 2026, in El Dorado, her hometown.
She was born August 27, 1962, to Robert C. “Bob” Turner and Hazel L. (Demo) Turner. She graduated from El Dorado High School in 1980 and took college courses at Butler Community College. She later worked as a store manager at Cato Fashion in El Dorado.
On April 26, 2002, she married Dean Taft.
Greta took long daily walks, often two hours or more, and enjoyed shopping and fashion. She went to concerts with her daughters and was a fan of Stevie Nicks and the Jonas Brothers. She enjoyed drama and romance movies and books, admired Vincent van Gogh, and decorated her home and made flower arrangements. She also loved bluebirds and her cat, Bob Ross.
Survivors include her husband, Dean Taft, of El Dorado; her children, Justin (Prema) Laymon, Sheena (Matthew) Debita and Erica Pickett; grandchildren Alia Debita, Nikolas Debita, Aria Laymon and Ava Laymon; her sister, Toni Finuf, of Wichita; and her brother, Stacy (Susan) Turner, of El Dorado.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Carlson Funeral Home. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 5, 2026, at Sunset Lawns Cemetery.
Memorial donations in Greta’s name may be directed to the El Dorado Animal Shelter.
