Butler County Health Department vaccine and administrative fee increases on Nov. 3 agenda

The Butler County Board of County Commissioners will meet at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at 205 W. Central Ave., 4th Floor, in El Dorado.

Commissioners will review an increase in vaccine and administrative fees proposed by the Butler County Health Department to align the fees with allowable insurance amounts.

The Health Department says vaccine prices and administrative fees have remained flat since the pandemic. Most insurance plans cover recommended vaccinations, and for uninsured residents the department works with KDHE and offers a sliding fee scale for those who do not qualify for the Vaccines for Adults program.

The staff report says the increases would help offset General Fund money and allow the department to absorb reduced or flat grant allocations.
